John C. Wright is in the Orson Scott Card category for me - someone with odious personal beliefs who nevertheless writes some good stuff.  His prose can be almost pompous at times, and his characters are almost Randian archetypes. On the plus side, he's a solid worldbuilder and has a knack for using really crazy…
