I think that they showed Selina did care about the issue, a bit—that is, she did have a fairly strong personal pro-choice opinion—but she did not care more about the issue than about the politics. Which, yup, pretty accurate!

I mean, I think saying "I think we should break up" and "I'm in love with someone" were pretty clear cut attempts to break up. She just didn't know how to follow through when Cliff was oblivious. Made me think of Chris dumping Ann on Parks & Rec.
