Agreed. Sonia's amazing.

Maybe this will be the minor character that Lauren said she wasn't happy including?

That's awesome (and the choice of character was hilarious)!

Wait, Static Shock as in the DC cartoon? Static was great. Zeta not so much.

As much hate as TVBTN gets here, they do have a point in that the networks can't cancel everything. ABC's gotta renew something, and I think this show has a shot at getting that second season. A third season may be unlikely, but I can see them giving it a second (hell, even V got a second season).

A-

Myles McAlmond was amazing. I know The Simpsons did it first by featuring The Onion/The AVClub in an episode, but has any other show actually had a direct reference to a writer for this site? I was super disappointed with Trophy Wife that the weird kid from Warren's AVClub at school wasn't named Todd.

I dunno. I could see people paying to see D-Bry and Brie tie the not.

How I hate the front page! It made it look like this was a film and not a book. That design is way too unclear and I really just want to avoid it.

Compliments? Where? All I've heard is people in comments complaining and Tom Scharpling mocking it.

The only other one I remember seeing was when Iggy V hung out with us the night that At the Movies debuted. He was too excited to sleep so he talked with us in the comment section.

I was confused what this post was for until I realized that the nuAVC removed community ratings.

It didn't occur to me she was a bad actor because she's basically just background dressing to me. Someone needs to be there to show that Matty's moved on, and she fits the look of who I'd expect him to go out with.

I missed it. What was the Myles reference?

Kyle's probably my favorite bit-part character and I really enjoyed him in this episode.

I'm guessing he's not sticking around past this season, at least not as a major player. I figured he was kind of a one-season type character anyway, and if next season is a new school year, it'd be easy to say he transferred to a rich private school.

Lauren mentioned that she had to include one small supporting character she didn't want to. I'm wondering if it was him and that's why he's barely around.

I hope he shows up in the twenty-first episode, so it would be 1.21.

I hate that the dvd reviews have now been mixed in with theatrical releases. Every time I see this I either think "Wait, Catching Fire's already on dvd?!" or "Wait, Assault on Precinct 13's been re-released/remade again?" and then I get disappointed. Stop disappointing me AVClub! You're not my son!

Kind of agreed on the sketch idea. I've watched some of it on YouTube (not sure if I ever finished it). The concept works as a one-time thing, and speeding it up so it's only 5 minutes would probably be funnier joke wise, but viewed as an experimental piece critiquing sitcoms, I like the full-length episode more.
