Thank you, @aryaasha:disqus. Now here is bag of cookies… which me not going to give to you.

Funny how every Lear show seem to start with same aspirations of social commentary, and some end up hitting hard (All In Family) and some just end up being regular sitcom (One Day At Time, Good Times… maybe just ones with "Time" in name?)

Simple. Second movie not sequel to first movie. Second movie was big-screen adaptation of this cartoon.

"You know what the kids want in this highly popular piece of fiction? Someone their own age awkwardly wedged into the narrative,"

Absolutely. Me was just trying to illustrate that you have very few options if you want to expand representation, and all of them have problems.

Personally, me think best home for Trek is television, and as such movie Trek is never going to encompass what we love about it. II/III/IV trilogy, and VI as standalone adventure, work because we already know those characters and relationships so well, so we can dive right into meditation on aging and loyalty and

(That was actually first comment me ever made on this site, many years ago. Me had to set record straight!)

Grammatical, that guy is not. Problem with that, me have.

Me actually have tears in eyes from laughing at this comment.

“If Renée Zellweger no longer looks like herself, has she become a different actress?”

Well, me not see them killing off Sulu, so we at least in good shape on that score.

It not "the" Cookie Monster, it just Cookie Monster, dammit!

That seem disrespectful, even if Yelchin was recast in role himself. It would be interesting if, having established alternate universe,

ME NOT KILL MY WIFE!

ME ALREADY WORK AROUND CLOCK!

Me have mixed feelings about reboot. Into Darkness was terrible, and idea of bringing back iconic villain and retelling that story was terrible idea. Joy of Star Trek is that you can go anywhere and explore new ideas, not run Enterprise in tighter and tighter circles over familiar ground.

Me fully expect Fuller to do that. But within narrower world of current Trek movies, it difficult to introduce new character of any significance when you have to keep 7 leads from original. If you decide to reboot original Star Trek you more or less stuck with characters from original Star Trek, so you either tinker

THAT NOT HOW FORCE WORKS!

That not better. He played character for years, it his career-defining role, and he very visible gay rights spokesman. He about as entitled to opinion as anyone on Earth can be.
