Tangerine?

Women are likely to receive unwanted and unwarranted attention everywhere, not just in major cities. That's part of the reason what Adams is saying is so fucking stupid.

Hey Eric! Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my comment and elaborate on the points you brought up in your review.

I really like these reviews but a couple of things bothered me about this one. First, the nitpicky correction: the directors name is Marielle Heller, not Henderson (correct in the Stray Observations, but not the main text of the review).

I was in the audience at the live MTV performance! I went through a period of being obsessed with the show when I was in high school and saw it a bunch of times because it was just so fucking fun. I agree, it was a super cool thing for MTV to air it live to make it more accessible to people. The tickets for that

I do love "Legally Blonde," the song too! That would be a good choice, even if yes, it is kind of complete nonsense and there's no way in hell it could be a real breakaway hit since the song/sentiment is literally the title of the show.

To some extent I agree with those who commented below that so much of it is narrative/plot-driven that it would be difficult, if not impossible, for any songs to exist independently of the show. But I also think some of the songs you guys did include—"Wait for It" and "It's All Happening," especially—are similarly

Legally Blonde or GTFO

Tangerine was shot on an iPhone and it is excellent! The other movie you're thinking of is actually called Tangerines (plural) and I haven't seen it so I can't vouch for its quality.

I like this score a lot but the main theme seems very close to Philip Glass's score for The Hours (another score I really love). Anyone else get that vibe?

I thought Welcome to Me was better than The Skeleton Twins, and very much worth watching. She really puts in a great performance there.

Right, and they couldn't very well call the series "Spider-Woman" because of the other, older Spider-Woman characters and ongoings (even though that is what New Yorkers in the book call Gwen's super heroine persona, because they obviously don't know her secret identity…)

It is a pretty unoriginal title, but the series is pretty ok. The art is pretty fun and it's nice to have an inversion of the hero/damsel in distress trope that Spider-Man's old mythology is based on. I'm genuinely surprised the AV Club didn't mention the series, considering I heard about it from them: http://www.avclu

No mention of hugely popular comic book character with her own series on which this is based?

I know this is crude, but holy shit, what I wouldn't give to be that ladder.

If you're a New Yorker, BAM is doing a retrospective of her career this month. So psyched to see Notorious in theaters this week.

It always makes me laugh to imagine how uncomfortable actors were in kissing scenes filmed during the Hays Code, because they can't even really purse their lips. They just have to kind of smash their lips together and move their heads side to side to make it look passionate when it's obviously anything but.

"Tangerine" is the kind of movie that should be getting awards instead of blatantly insincere stuff like "The Danish Girl." Seriously, go see "Tangerine." It's so good and not getting nearly enough press for its level of quality directing/acting. Here's hoping it gets a lot of buzz when it hits streaming services.

Did she really? That's super disappointing, as I liked Another Earth quite a bit when I saw it in theaters.
