an old and cranky and somewhat snarky Doctor would be oh so much fun

it was also a cool scene, especially when they threw Capaldi in there

but RTD and Moffat had two different visions so it's easy to picture 11's universe almost being a whole other universe than 9 or 10. Among other things, the whole Time Lord War which so hung over 9 and 10 was never something that 11 seemed concerned with

and he's got a lot of Chekov Guns to fire off

But….since the decision to not blow up the planet happened after 9th's (and 10ths and 11ths) time, maybe he wouldn't have known it because it wasn't part of a linear time line. Or does that not matter?

dude needs to get over it and stop being a putz about it

it also would have been great if it was the last three Doctor's together instead of the last two

Clara's bit about only going out on certain days is the kind of thing you'd want to get into it if you're developing characters but I guess not. And the Pond's suddenly having a life and only traveling with the Doctor came out really out of nowhere too

just out of curiosity (and I mean this with no snark intended), what do you see in Clara that defines her? I think I get what she's supposed to be but I'm doing a lot of guesswork and fankwanking. I really do like JLC and think the character could be really good but I'm not feeling it yet

my guess is that plot line will never be heard from again, just as the whole Amy's baby was never really brought up again

she does show fear sometimes, at least in the S7 which I liked. I can't believe any other companion at some point didn't go "what the hell have I gotten myself in?"

my account was also swallowed into the void, taking my picture with it

I liked how they both played their best, restrained selves and easily shared the screen, neither trying to outstage or outdo the other.

I kind of get where they're going with her but all we really know is that she's a teacher, suddenly learned how to be kickass on a motorcycle, really good at reading eyes and proficient in the standard Companion "You're Better Than This" speech. So far, she's still a big ole meh

What I really liked about this episode is how almost meditative and low-key it was. The meeting of 10 and 11 wasn't made into a big deal but it just happens and is played as such throughout. Then of course was the decision to have Billie Piper in there but not actually be corporeal and interact with 10. Then
