I'm pretty confident that when the time comes, later down the line, the show could tackle a more political storyline, because it's been doing well quietly addressing some bigger issues like PTSD and military families back home. I think the show comes from a more personal place (re: biegel's actual family and brothers)…
but seriously, you can't say the show doesn't make you think about things.
usually they're in production order on the DVD, at least they were with happy endings.
seriously though, especially after that "me gusta dat booty" dance.
keith david was on a roll, with that line, his fake smile and then all his congratulations to pete in his office.
or maybe four months ago, but it still feels nice to be back.
also, this is the first time I've posted on the av club since community finished season 3, so it feels nice to be back! and probably there goes all my free time, right?
every time I watch an episode of enlisted, I feel like it ends up taking ten extra minutes, because there's always a clever line or a bit I want to rewind and re-watch (and the killer emotional endings, too). even though the episodes are out of order (what is up with networks airing things out of order? FOX is doing…
Peretti is my favorite, the end.
This episode still kills me. Samm Levine (and all the geeks, really) does such amazing work as Neal: he's acting like any confused teenager would but in such a scary, sad way (and with a ventriloquist dummy). It's almost hard for me to watch the scene because I just acutely feel all the awkwardness. Freaks and Geeks…
Crap! I'm still like three episodes away. I hope it's amazing. I'll get there eventually. DUMB LIBRARY WITH DUMB PEOPLE CHECKING OUT THE WIRE SEASON 1 ALL THE TIME.
Cat, you're the beeeeeeeeeeeeest. That's all I gotta say. I wish I was AT CommuniCon, but the TinyChat is almost as good.
I actually really liked this episode because it featured some continuity. I also am sad that's a reason I liked this episode. (my favorite joke was Finn pouring about sixty-four sugars in his coffee. oh that kid…)
I so loved this episode. It breezed by a lot quicker than the season opener. Marnie's resignation to her fate as a "pretty person employee" is more than a bit sad: I wonder where her journey will lead. She's got a lot of soul-searching ahead, and I kinda can't wait for her to figure out who she is without Charlie and…
@avclub-82cf46948ca0f531a256e38473c9282f:disqus That's fair. I never really thought of her as representing this entire generation of people (but I guess she's sort-of been marketed as such by HBO), but that would be why she's so heavily criticized.
Nah, no worries. I know it's not for everyone (sometimes I'm not even sure it's for me), but I just wanted to give it a good description in case you decided to check it out!
Marnie, Marnie, Marnie.
I definitely think it was Amy's year to win (I thought it was her year to win the Emmy, seriously her campaign speeches last season were all brilliant moments of acting), but I can't fault them for giving Dunham a win.
Here goes:
