It's worth noting that Balthazar Getty is gonna be in the new Twin Peaks. Maybe the two worlds are gonna collide?

Oh man, I'm reading the plot summary right now and this sounds like it's so, so up my alley (I'm a sucker for horror and books that shift perspective a lot/fuck with narrative structure). I know what I'll be reading next!

It's okay. He knows.

I know of people who actually had Prince come to their door to convert them back when he was spending more time in Toronto. In retrospect, I wish I'd asked for more of the story because that sounds fantastic and surreal.

Sad upvote.

I would argue that, relative to its length, this is actually one of the less filler-laden double-albums out there. I guess it helps that I actually really like the second disc - that cluster of teenage crush songs towards the end really appeals to what's left of the gawky teenage romantic in me.

Was it Earthling? I feel like I distinctly remember reading that Earthling was focus-grouped.

I think the problem is that it sounded exactly like one would expect a Sunn O)))/Scott Walker collab to sound. It was predictable in a way that both artists usually manage to avoid.

Love me some Scott Walker. My first introduction to him was the Walker Brothers' Nite Flights album, and I can count my first listen to The Electrician as one of a small handful of "and nothing would ever be the same again" moments in my creative development.

They've got a real mutual admiration society going, that's for sure.

It's not you.

I'm predicting a bunch of disappointed dudes looking around at a crowd full of other disappointed dudes.

You can milk my milk when I'm milk

And milk and milk about milk on the milk

Rhythm Nation 1814 was waaaaaay more influential than it ever gets credit for.

I'm a Zappa fan, but I completely empathize with this point. Probably my biggest issue with him is how much contempt he seemed to have for his audience - I honestly feel like the dirty jokes in his lyrics were less him having a juvenile sense of humour and more him pandering to what he thought his audience expected of

Death Grips. They're so close to being something I actually do like and pretty much everyone I know loves them, but I've never had any kind of reaction to them other than "gee, that fella sure sounds angry".
