It's people with guilt complexes striving for ideological purity - minus the institutional power, it's not that much different from what converts someone to religious fundamentalism, honestly (or, alternately, nu-atheism). I'm kinda scared of what's gonna happen to the left - the more dogmatic people get, the easier

No.

Saw a movie at the Fantasia film festival. Had a party. Had great sex. Talked with my partner about feelings for a while. Ate mediocre chinese food. Went to the hospital. Turned out to be fine. Slept.

I was trying to find a clever way to say this, but I'll just be blunt: this guy is a proven rapist and you should be fucking ashamed of yourself for giving him free publicity.

DON'T GIVE "GREAT JOB, INTERNET!" IDEAS

I specifically said I wasn't!

Why does this keep threatening to be a thing? The first one wasn't good. It was never good.

Uh oh… Haven't heard that one yet. Should I skip it and remain in blissful ignorance?

Due to Canadian television schedule-fuckery, a friend of my dad's watched The Sting thinking it was the Futurama series finale. Not that I'm disappointed with the ending we got, but now I can't help but think what a powerful way to end the show that would have been. Leela's increasingly surreal experience of reality

Wasn't that also a huge hit? I feel like I saw ads for it here in Montreal touting it as some kind of runaway success and, as much as I hate to admit it, I think my literal first thought was "hmm… huge hit in France… I wonder if it's racist?"

Great Job, Internet!

Yeah, I like how he's occasionally really wise and profound, but never enough to make him into some cliché "idiot savant" archetype.

He's the perfect mix of endearingly child-like and completely screwed-up.

He once held an opponent's wife's hand in a jar of acid.

DUMBBBBBBBB

He did also tweet himself assaulting a transperson.

Is he? That's a pleasant surprise to me - he seems to have burned a lot of bridges and I can't say he's come off well in any of the interviews I've read with him.

"The friend—identified in court papers as Jane Doe—told police that Taylor asked if he and another woman could come to her property, where she boards horses, and engage in sexual activity with one of the animals."

I almost downvoted out of horrified recognition of having heard that sound.

That show's been recommended to me a coupla times now, I clearly need to get on that. And yeah, Eric Andre's actually got pretty solid acting chops in addition to being a fucking lunatic.
