To be fair, there was that relatively recent episode of The Eric Andre Show where Eric Andre punch Rick Springfield in the face repeatedly.

The weird time signature stuff didn't really start until A Wizard, A True Star kicked off his "Todd's on acid" phase. Even then, I'd say he's more into weird song structures and dramatic tempo changes than prog-rock-y time signature fuckery.

And the album "Todd" is weirder still!
