Funnily enough, Hypnotize and Mezmerize are my most listened-to SOAD albums. The goofiness of a lot of the material put me off for years, but nowadays it makes sense to me when I listen to them in sequence: Hypnotize is mostly goofy with a few serious tunes for good measure, whereas Mezmerize is almost oppressively

Cowtools… you're alright.

That it is. One of those rare moments where the stars align and a band's most experimental release is also their most popular.

The idea that Cheap Trick has a sizeable fan base in Springfield makes me happy.

My Grade 7 teacher once showed us the Wesley Snipes film The Art Of War in the school auditorium for… some reason.

I love David Bowie but I hate musicals. I have very mixed feelings about this.

Yeah, I like Cyndi Lauper's first album as much as anyone, but I find her version of When You Were Mine is one of the low points, if only because the original is so unfuckwithable.

This is 1980, can't you afford a fuckin' haircut?

Bath Salts Bowie.

It's hard to tell because this review reads like something a college sophomore would write while brutally hung over, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to see this.

Actually, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt - I figured no one who's actually listened to her stuff would come to the conclusion that it could all be related back to one time she was sexually assaulted. That's just fucked-up.

Okay, you've clearly just listened to, like, one Tori Amos album. At most.

Tori's also a lot more frankly sexual and confrontational in her lyrical stance. You will never, ever hear a line like "my snatch is angry" in a Kate Bush song.
