Okay guys, what am I missing? I want to hear whatever it is you're hearing, but I can honestly say this is the first U2 album I've completely disliked on an extremely visceral level from beginning to end - up to this point How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb was the only other U2 album I'd be inclined to say I genuinely

V gets points for being the most disturbing, but VII is my favourite solely for the Clinton/Dole segment, consistency between segments be damned.

I like their debut album too, even if a lot of the songs sound half-finished. The dry, synth-centric production and gloomy atmosphere makes it feel really unique in the context of their discography.
