Some shady organisations push research to prove a link between violent videogames and violent behavior. (They also tend to ignore that people with violent tendencies are more likely to choose violent Videogames rather than non violent ones.)

For the record there is a lot of evidence to say that videogames are not good for neural and social development. It's just that idiots want to blame videogames for creating psychopaths rather than the combination of bad parenting and societal failure that does tend to create violent offenders. And so the real message

Show the sadness and damage it causes. Also maybe show that some of the people who caused her harm remain entirely unrepentant and therefore suicide and leaving a suicide note ISN'T the best way to get revenge/justice for your suffering.

If there is no inter rater reliability then how are ANY of the reviews on here worthwhile? Basic practice for any review site should be to establish criteria upon which to base reviewer ratings (eg A could be "Exceeds the bounds of its genre. I expect it would be enjoyable to 90% of people." Not saying that GotG2

Especially when shit like Riverdale gets an A despite having the exact same failings as this movie - being repetitive and bound by the conventions of the genre that it is a part of.

I thought it was better than a B.

As others said, to give an impression of what to expect while allowing us to experience more new material in the movie.

Yeah I considered that argument after I'd already committed to my line of reasoning. Fair point.

It's a film about a group of 4 people. Unless they decide to completely ignore the characters they've given them in the first film they can't avoid retreading old ground.

Except noone is expecting anything other than that? A review should probably say how good a movie is at achieving what it sets out to achieve (since people buy tickets for an action conedy movie expecting action and comedy).

Cool? Tell me the last blockbuster you saw that actually lived up to the standards of this reviewer (and apparently you) though?

I think they're on dangerous ground with Drax for future movies though - I think if they tried to push him further into the comedic character role then it would feel overdone. This movie had what is probably maximum Drax. He is MVP though.

In the comics Drax was far and away the most powerful of them wasn't he?

Man this review sounds really pretentious. Like I know you've got a degree in film studies or something, but pointing out that a mindless fun goofy space opera spectacle is generic and touches on similar points that the first one did is really just pointless isn't it? I mean the movie deliberately aims to do that.

You'd prefer they use all the good bits from the movie for the trailer instead?

I guess it might be worth another try then…

They're no worse than anyone else on any other show.

It'd be of Martin to put his name near something so clearly targeted at Robert Jordan though. I mean the man is dead.

Is that actually any good though? I read the series when I was a nerdier teenager and my standards of literature were low. Now I've tried to reread it a couple of times but just can't get past the first few chapters.

It wouldn't be hard - Nym tracks her to Kings Landing infiltrates the palace and meets Sir Pounce.
