Why did DC decide that every hero had to have a sidekick with the exact same powers/skill set as them? Haven't they heard of complementarity/yin and yang?
I suspect it's out of some misguided idea that competent people in his administration will legitimise it. You know, as if winning the election according to the electoral rules didn't already legitimise it.
The problem is that competent people generally don't like to associate themselves with someone who will both ignore advice and refuse to do any work himself, overrule any decision he doesn't like, and then blame everyone around him for the shitstorm he creates.
