If we let them be unoriginal in such an obvious way even once, they'll do it all the time— they'll rip off the demon Pazuzu and everything else from The Exorcist, they'll rip off psychic paper from Doctor Who, they'll even rip off that I'm-Batman voice that Keanu used in the movie of Constantine

But the way he dealt with Faust was just the end of the movie LEON: THE PROFESSIONAL. Girl is in trouble, so a meeting with the bad guy is unavoidable, a grenade pin is pulled, bad guy problem solved.
