We got sent to Grandma's house! Unfortunately, she didn't cook, either.

I come from the future to like your post, following my binge-watch of Season 1. I'm 2 years younger than Paige, grew up in a relatively normal family, and believe you me, if I had spoken to my mother the way that Paige speaks to Elizabeth (especially in the post-separation episodes), I would not be here today to be

Do you mean Richard Speck? Who was in some ways even more horrifying than Bundy.

30 Rock, which I really wanted to like, left me so cold that I almost didn't give Kimmy Schmidt a chance. It's not just you!

Thank you for telling your story. I was horrified to see myself in it at the end, the part about how relationships with other people are affected.

Ha ha, I have sons 10 months apart.

No, he was actually pretty normal! He was just a first baby who came out SUPER fast. I ended up having to have surgery for the, um, other damage that he did. That's probably TMI. He's hasn't apologized for that, either. It took six years to get up the courage to have another one.

Stabby Snake skeeves me out, because she is also the star of a children's show (my preschool daughters' current obsession) that is currently airing in France but that clearly was filmed several years ago. So in the afternoon she is dancing on my TV with unicorns and fairies and in the evening it's all stabby stabby

Me, too! I wasn't planning to have to discuss THAT with the 13-year-old son who was there with me.

I don't know exactly how long it took (I had been planning for an epidural, HA HA HA), only that the kid broke my tailbone on his way out, so it must have been pretty fast. 16 years it's been and still no apology from the little ingrate. So I am not so much looking forward to Lyanna and her bed of blood.

That was pretty much what I was thinking! (Winces, crosses legs.)

Exactly. Also, there is a public policy that people are generally free to choose their own lawyers. Any non-compete that purported to forbid a departing lawyer from continuing to work with a firm client would impinge on the client's freedom of choice, which is why those types of agreements are disfavored in the

This is beautifully stated. I am finding it harder and harder to watch this show, and it is 100% because the (wonderfully acted) Kim storyline is incredibly painful to see. It just hits too close to home. I've never had this reaction to a TV show before.

Let me translate: if that B hadn't been so frigid at the meeting, everything would be perfect.

I think it's great to follow your own path, but I have to agree that an early 40s associate at a firm like HHM would be very unlikely. Those types of firms tend to have a "mold," and you either fit in or you don't. Plus they prefer younger associates because, well, they are less likely to stand up for themselves than

Michael McKean really is brilliant, but at the same time I really wish we could just get to the point already with his storyline. It's kind of starting to drag. IMHO.

Yes! It's the women who are the REAL sexists. Said every comment section ever.

You are totally my favorite commenter here.

Ugh. So much of this comment section is an exercise in Not! All! Men! It was a really great episode, too.

My experience working in law firms is that years of hard work and taking your job seriously does not matter. The mentality really is "Well, what have you done for me today?" And that applies to both associates and partners, who now get thrown on their ear with a frequency that was unknown a couple of decades ago.
