You are right to an extent, but comic book shows are almost inherently silly by definition, and superman stories in particular are. He (and Kara) are basically gods so their powers have always been subject to "whatever the writers say to make drama". I watch for Melissa Benoist and hopefully get a few great episodes

I can't keep up with the PC-ness, so I will just apologize. Now guys wanting two women make out is okay for their pleasure because it is gay? My head is hurting

he said chicks making out, I said nothing about being gay

maybe read the thread before getting prematurely offended

yes. It would be a short term sexploitation that would doom the show long term. Plus, I do not want to watch a show that does stuff like that to get 13 year old boys and Howard Stern fans interested. Kids watch the show. Dude, you wanna watch chicks make out, there are many porn channels so enjoy those

The other nitpick I have about this episode is the Mon El/Miss Tassbacher thing. One date and he talked about Kara the whole time? Just c'mon. They already had sex..and she does a Lucy Lane with Kara and basically tells her to go for it? Man, these characters are almost supernaturally not jealous or envious on

never going to happen. They have their gay character. It would be ballsy, sure, but also ratings suicide. Diversity is fine, but having both Danvers sisters go gay would basically make this show slash fiction for a 1% audience

its basic but is such a trope it is almost a staple of these kinds of shows though

the problem here is this city does not need a vigilante. They already have two superheroes and a third in training..it has to be the safest city this side of Metropolis. Vigilante characters work when they establish a city is corrupt or so overrun by crime they need one. (prime example, Batman)

that was CBS though and I agree the first two episodes of this season looked great so I can see throwing more money into "special episodes", but they really looked crappy on this episode particularly. The crane, her flying, metallo..everything

yes, that is true, but I cannot see why "on this show" they would do such a story. This is supergirl..not "Luthor". If she was the main protagonist, I could see that angle..but how much mileage can they really get from a good Lena Luthor?

I think you are going to be disappointed. I would put the odds at about 80% she becomes the main antagonist on the show. This is a comic book show after all so main characters have to have some story point. (other then James for the reasons everyone hates about him now, but he was a failed love interest). Kara

Mon El has more romantic chemistry with Kara then James..but that is only because James is just a horrible, bland character. My problem with Mon El is they made him too nice the last six or so episodes. He works better as a rogue and Han Solo type. Making him so nice lately just makes him a bland love interest.

I think they set up while Lena has issues with her step mommy..she likes Lex just fine. (she thinks he went a little crazy but I am betting she is going to blame Superman and by extension Supergirl for that)

I think if people think rationally about it rather than just hoping Kara and Lena are BFF! she has to be evil eventually. It just makes no sense to have an iconic name like Luthor on this show and just have her be a nice friend for Kara. That would be as pointless as James has become now. Unlike Cat, Kara does not

Its either what you said, or he had an iron clad contract from his time on CBS and had to pay him anyway so tried to get something out of him

    1. Someone has to explain modern special effects to me..how can "The Expanse" on Sci-Fi and "Legion" on FX have such great settings and special effects while the CW (which is a minor network but still should be above cable) have such crappy special effects? Isn't just a computer program you buy with some visual

Its the old "Office Space" saying in practice, "you can get a burger anywhere, people come here for "x"". "X" here is good looking woman who are nice to you while serving "good enough" food to make you feel at least okay about being there legitimately for the food. If you are a guy in your early 20's, this place is

    waaa!

A depressing, unrealistic dystopian series where women are raped and treated as second class citizens..um, pass the popcorn!
