Bernadette has quietly become indispensable over the years. I kind of wish they'd drop Raj (sorry guy but weakest link, survival of the fittest and all that) so we could get some time inside that evil pharmaceutical company Bernie works at.

This was one of the better episodes of the entire season IMO, surprised you didn't feel it was A worthy. The obvious fan service (Joan's 2005 hair! Clyde!) was the icing on the cake. This was a big Watson episode that everyone's been clamoring for. She was in the driver seat for the case, making most of the big…
What put it over the top for me was that it was REALLY GI Joe (the opening credits were almost exact), not some lame "Commando Carl" stand-in. They even got Flint and Duke's voice actors! Sadly the inimitable Chris Latta passed away so no epic COOOOBRAAAA! RETREEAAAT!
I'm having trouble determining if you like the show or not. Even discounting the 50% of total comments that rag on Agent Beefcake, the other half is largely hating on the characters in general… which the show has spent a lot of time developing (just unsuccessfully). If anything the show has largely been a slow burn…
I'm surprised to hear it's acclaim wasn't universal. Personally it's the gold standard for the portrayal of war on film. "Saving Private Ryan" of course did it first and largely inspired the presentation, but it was only a snapshot (and kind of blows it's wad early with the D-Day scene). This show chronicled a group…
I'd have thought my line criticizing the Whedon-emulating (that better?) aspects of the series would have shielded me from being called "Jed"
I would have worked in that I was "clearly on Disney's payroll" instead.
In the comics Hand had a convoluted triple agent storyline. I'm pretty sure she ended up being a good guy. Generally the only thing they've directly adapted was her name and her magenta hair streaks.
A lot of hate in the comments… frankly this is exactly what I expected out of a SHIELD show: edge of your seat action, thrilling set pieces, shifty intrigue between characters. Even though I'm of the opinion that the show had already improved over the past couple weeks, this episode caught me off guard with how…
I've replayed Mass Effect 3 a bunch of times (My "main" playthrough was Male Shep but you need to try Fem Shep at least once, and of course there's Alien Hating Asshole Shep). Whenever Syfy decides to remember they used to be SciFi and puts on a BSG marathon I watch bc it's still riveting drama. The only one I agree…
It can't be worse than her guest spot in Frank Miller's "Goddamn" Batman run few years back.
Yea Hook definitely knows more than he's letting on.. I mean he's the one fairy tale character who didn't lose his memories of the last year. I'm looking forward to his flashback most.
I liked the final check in with the prison. Seems like the popular consensus is to rag on the prison storyline but I enjoyed it. I didn't know the title before I came here, but I got a good chuckle that the Walking Dead forced AV Club to write "A" next to it.
I'd be on board with the Knave and Hook getting into hijinx.
Someone told me it was planned to be only one season. Obviously hearsay, but the only reason I watched it from the beginning was bc I had assumed it was finite and there would be a conclusive ending. It certainly didn't feel like it had enough story for multiple seasons.
Yea the other guy clarified it for me, I just had never before heard of someone criticizing a network TV show for having commercials. It's like saying The Sopranos solely existed to trick you into buying an HBO subscription.. it's true but pretty much every form entertainment is funded by someone trying to sell you…
I always enjoyed the effort they put into Babylon 5's opening credits. They changed every season and (with the exception of the very vanilla season 1 intro) did a great job of capturing the tone of the particular year.
Haven't followed this but between those 4 it's easily Game of Thrones all the way.
I was hoping they'd include the epic beeping of the real time clock, or at least have "The following takes place.." narration.
To be fair Donald Glover did post a bunch of weird ramblings on the internet around the time he decided to leave that imply he either has a strange sense of humor or he had some kind of nervous breakdown:

Oh.. well I guess he'd have been really pissed if Charles Whitmore drank Jack Daniels and the computer in the hatch had been powered by Windows 8.
