She would be a good Plan B option in a few years. Comedy Central will (and should) give Noah time, though. Probably through the next election, barring him just being unbearably awful or ratings plummeting.

I believe it in Samantha Bee's case, at least. By all accounts, she seems to be a huge family-first person, and hosting The Daily Show basically takes you out of their lives for most of the week. This once-a-week show gives her more flexibility.

She didn't want the job, according to several interviews she's done ahead of this. She said she wouldn't like the stress the show would've put on her and would hate being away from her family so much. She saw first-hand what the Daily Show hosting job did to Jon Stewart, and he was the creator and master of the craft.

This justified Twitter's existence.

I bet he'll end up doing that and that he'll retire from late night in 2018. He's mentioned how the remote segments are his favorite because they keep him on his toes, which doing late night doesn't do anymore. I guarantee he'll end his show in 2018, maybe take a year off and then do a travel show on TBS or elsewhere

Kanye is an egomaniac, but he's arguably the most important mainstream musician going right now. And he's a damn good performer. His Yeezus tour was spectacular.

"Sarah Palin is a Fucking Retard" is probably my favorite Colbert bit of all-time.

Conan/Sam Bee is a weird combination. Conan is hilarious when he wants to be (ie in remote segments), but he's not political at all. I've never been that big of a Bee fan, but she's definitely smart and very political. Then again, the Fallon funtime happy hour and Seth Meyers' increasingly political show is a strange

I think he was truly sick and tired of everything. You could tell his heart wasn't in it most nights during his last couple years and he looked exhausted. I was lucky enough to attend a couple of his shows during his last few months, and you could tell when people asked him to stay through one more election during the

Stewart had a harder edge to him, but if his show called Trump White ISIS, that's all people would be talking about that week. Let's not act like Noah's Daily Show has no edge to it at all.

The show isn't as edgy or as bitingly satirical as The Colbert Report was, but it's just as funny, I think.

Nobody outside of John Oliver would have been able to carry on the show like that, though. And he's much better at hosting Last Week Tonight than he was hosting The Daily Show.

The Nightly Show takes a lot of cues from Stewart's righteousness and passion, almost to a detriment. It's a decent show with a smart host that's finding its voice, like Noah's Daily Show.

The show is smarter than what it was during Stewart's first couple years. Noah's Daily Show right now is essentially the same as Stewart's during his last several years (with more correspondent bits) but stripped away of Stewart's rants or probing critiques of American politics and media. Otherwise, the jokes are

I don't dispute most of the author's critiques of Noah. It's certainly a less cathartic and less vital show than it was under Stewart. But what do you expect? Noah is finding his voice while still doing a usually funny show.

I cannot stand James Corden

It's not as sonically daring as Yeezus, but it's his best song lyrically in years and the production is on point (ie, it's not some generic trap beat like Facts)

This new Kanye song is incredible. He had me worried after Facts, but this is amazing.

Ehh…. It's OK. I prefer the old one, but I'd rather see Noah get his own spin on The Daily Show theme. Since Mould's was Kilborn's and TMBG's was Stewart's.

They barely played the old theme song for more than a few seconds the past few years.
