Oh man, I just rewatched the episode and I was so focused on Jess and the bank teller at this moment the first time that I didn't notice Schmidt literally dragging Nick mid-hug across the background so that he doesn't see Jess. Hilarious.

That's because during season 2, this was the funniest show on TV. And I definitely think Season 3 was nowhere near as bad as some people like to say.
I thought the same! That would have been so great.
To the surprise of nobody, Winston is once again episode MVP.
Probably because all 20+ episodes of season 5 aired pretty quickly this past January to May. The good news is that season 5 should be on Netflix next week when the new season starts. You should make catching up a priority - seasons 4 and 5 were fantastic!
This is a great list. If I had to pick the next 10 notable episodes in terms of both humor and heart, I'd go Wedding, Menzies, Parking Spot, Winston's Birthday, Birthday, Big News, Spiderhunt, Clean Break, Helmet, and A Chill Day In.
Zooey had some fantastic comedic moments these episodes (I especially enjoyed her "imitation" of Cece's pause), but her dramatic chops in the last few minutes were killer as well.
Erik, thank you faithfully reviewing this wonderful show week after week. We will miss hearing your thoughts!
This show is very very funny, and yet the somewhat rare dramatic moments are always brilliant as well. Forte killed it when he had to protect Mike from the group. This was a really good episode.
I would start with The Apartment and watch the rest of the season from there. It's been pretty hysterical. Especially the Bachelor/Bachelorette party episodes last week. Personally, I didn't care much for the Reagan arc. She wasn't terrible, but I like my original roommates. Aly can definitely stay though.
PREACH
I think Nick and I had the exact same reaction to Schmidt revealing that "Humpty Dumpty" might be a parable for the king
Tied with "A drawing of a best friend that an 8 year old would make"
Accurate
I agree 100%
I know that this show likes to be non-traditional, but I've really enjoyed the way Tandy and Carol's relationship has grown into genuine care for each other, so I wish they had gone for sweetness rather than laughs for their first "I love you" moment. Having one be mid-coitus with another person was oddly enough just…
So thankful for the Julius Pepperwood acknowledgement. I know I'm basically alone in this, but that was one of my favorite episodes. Because of it, I have the perfect response anytime I am offered thin-crust pizza
Thank you!!!
I greatly enjoyed the payoff of seeing the actual Nutmeg Wholesaler, and his subsequent interaction with Nick.
