In a better-run universe, this would be an accurate description …

I'd be happy to watch it if every episode was just half an hour of Ellie Kemper dancing.

I kinda thought, it being a Whedon show, they were specifically trying to imitate the last episode of Angel, where the gang kills off the members of the Circle of the Black Thorn (making it a double homage as that was itself clearly intended to be a Godfather reference), although it didn't have as much resonance as

Kyle MacLachlan doing the Snoopy Dance when he heard the good news about Skye was pretty much the Best Thing Ever.

I'd already been a huge fan of Marc Evan Jackson, thanks to The Thrilling Adventure Hour, so I'm always happy to see him show up on B99. I loved his bone-dry yet still completely sincere delivery of ".. But then we wouldn't have got your hilarious officiant/efficient joke!" You really do believe they have a

I'm not at all surprised that it's happening, though now that I think of it, I'm kinda surprised it hasn't happened already.

Except for Coney Island whitefish …

Although, honestly, my favorite moment in the whole episode was Dottie calmly and methodically taking down the guard at the airfield in the background through the windshield while the camera stays on Fennhoff scheming in the car in the foreground (with the wonderfully deadpan “A new opportunity has arisen.” / “Just

That was the East River.

To be honest, I think this demonstrated, as if any further proof were needed, that the writers of this show not only have no idea what to do with Barbara, they have no clear or consistent idea of how she could be made to function within the show's universe: thus far, she's been Gordon's once and presumably future

Actually, wouldn't a $100 bill be the cumbersome one? To the extent the relative values are comparable to today, $2 would be something like a week's salary in 1780; $100 would probably get you a downpayment on a house.

Are the tan lines we see during the Keri Russell butt shot sufficiently period-specific?

I definitely agree about Jeremy Irons in Dead Ringers: ideally he should have won Best Actor for playing Beverly and Best Supporting Actor for playing Elliot.

Not only that, but mid-spit-take as well.

As far as her actual character on Gotham goes, I'm pretty lukewarm about her as, like most characters on Gotham, she makes little to no sense, but damn if she doesn't look absolutely gorgeous doing whatever the hell it is she's supposed to be doing.

I think in general the show's done a good job of not making its main male characters one-dimensional sexist boobs. Yeah, sure, they consistently underestimate Peggy, especially at the beginning, but they're also capable of recognizing when she's right, too.

Although I found it intriguing that in the promos for AoS's return they seem to be trying to capitalize on Agent Carter's female-character-driven nature: they say something along the lines of "get ready for the ladies of SHIELD!" over a bunch of action shots mostly featuring Chloe Bennett, Ming-Na Wen, and Adrianne

That tone of wistful regret she gave to "No, I don't" was perfect, as though she was genuinely sad he was going off to die and it was too bad there was nothing she could do about it.

Well, if nothing else, the old-timey fiddle version of "Sympathy for the Devil" was a nice callback to the first episode of the series: when Ichabod awoke in the present, the original version played over the scenes of him wandering around trying to figure out where he was.

I'd've loved to hear it myself.
