I'll need to re-check the first album. It never did much for me, but I really love albums 2-5.

Propagandhi are that weird band that took a huge leap in quality right at the moment the punk explosion started to fade. Their new stuff is unbelievably good.

Timberlake is a good, energetic, highly capable host, but his episodes have been some of the most re-heated, repetetive episodes the show has done. His fourth episode was basically him sleepwalking through the same sketches he had already hammered into the ground the first three times he hosted.

John Goodman and Paul Reubens both tried out in 1980. Others that were nearly a part of the show or tried out were Catherine O'hara, Andrea Martin, Mark Maron, Dana Gould, Jeff Ross, Dane Cook, Rob Heubel, TJ Miller, James Adomian and Kevin Hart.

I must be missing out on some context. This is a bizarre thread.

XTC - Roads Girdle The Globe
Pavement - Rattled By The Rush
Elliott Smith - I Better Be Quiet Now
Beanie Sigel - Don't Stop
Starflyer 59 - When No One Calls It (It Will Be Alright)

When Carlin hosted it was a great cast - Martin Short, Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Rich Hall, Billy Crystal, Julia-Louis Dreyfus. It's a pretty middle-of-the-pack episode from that season, although Crystal's Joe Franklin Show sketch from that episode is fun.
