It was an R rated movie that for some reason was never released in China. That it made as much as it did not being part of a recent franchise, being so off-the-wall, and not being any kind of superhero movie was an absolute miracle.
Then it won so many Oscars and such critical acclaim, it would be stupid not to make

So's your face

Genuinely could not give a crap about genuine accent. Pike doesn't have the out and out ferocity to sell this like Theron.

Nope. Wasn't that a comedy

When has Rosamund Pike ever done action movies?

I'm a 31 year old woman and maybe I would like to jerk off to this too? Why does everyone always assume everything sexy is aimed at men.

The American accent IS her accent though. She never had a SA accent while speaking English. It's funny, but you can hear a strange twang in her American accent when she talks though, almost a little Boston, but likely because English wasn't her first language.

She never had a South African accent though. She spoke Afrikaans as her first language then learned English properly as a teen with an American accent.

Paul Greengrass has a lot to answer for.

Perfect casting is very perfect.

Well considering the showrunner described her as "arguably unlikable and an asshole" I'm hoping they won't just skim over that fact. There are myriads of adapted true stories about asshole men stepping all over others to get what they want (see Wolf of Wall Street, Social Network, etc) and most of the time it's

Making it a life goal to be able to give a kiss that fierce! And fully appreciate her making that way less a cliche seduction than she did a power/control play.
Please don't let me down on the female villain and what she gets to do F8!! I'm mostly here for her honestly, so no wasting her!

Star Wars is also one of those 'Arbys' franchises. As is Hunger Games and Harry Potter and any number of continuous universe movies that people wait eagerly for.
And if trailer view numbers affected anything substantial about movie box office or promotion to be worth tampering with, then why would all studios not just

Definitely one to keep an eye out for!

Trying not to imagine how terrifying that junkyard scene would be in live action…

Most viciously for female writers.

I'm so glad Jennifer Jason Leigh is back! My heart broke for her hearing how depressed and hopeless she felt when her career started to falter years ago. Bless Tarantino for getting her back to us.

This is true.

For smaller movies I'm really looking forward to The Zookeeper's Wife starring Jessica Chastain, the biopic of Antonina Żabiński, who stashed people and animals away safe from the invasion during World War II by hiding them in animal cages in her zoo. It looks beautiful from the trailer and Jessica Chastain always
