I also don't see anyone shouting out the director/editor/sound mixer. In addition to all the other 'thematically pleasing' points folks are making, this episode was very much filmed in the style of 80's action movie a la lethal weapon. From the camera angles to the fight scenes to voice decibels!

My sense is that Nate has a little more swag than Ray. His humour is meant to be actually funny for the characters involved
