I remember "It's your childhood, isn't it?" One of the best bad laughs in cinema.
Normally I don't like these TV adaptations, but without even having seen this one yet, I think they have the team the show needs to succeed.
"I like how Leto's trying so hard to be dark and edgy and nobody is taking him seriously at all."
What? No it's not. It's not like you can catch Jared Leto and he has to give you a pot of gold for your rigid consistency. The reason that people who "stay in character" also act is because they stay in character to act.
I saw this movie Them! recently, some black & white hipster retro shit. Someone should tell Cameron about this movie. They just cut Aliens to pieces, rearranged it, and called it something else. He could sue them and make a fortune.
It's not well-paced, but I always thought of it as a companion piece to the Murnau movie.
but there's a sense that this may be a figleaf of sorts,
I thought it was supposed to be?
Pop psychological speeches drag down horror movies. Pop Freudian artistry gave us pretty much the entire genre. It's in whatever your favorite horror movie is, most likely.
"Probably"? What?
Scary Movie perplexed me as a premise. Isn't spoofing Scream redundant? Then I saw them and I was like, oh, it's like a Jim Abrahams movie and that part's not important. And then he ended up writing the fourth one.
solid point right here
Cabin in the Woods may be defined as the polar opposite of what I want from a horror movie. It's a movie for people who will not like the same things as me. I don't know what that means as far as whether it is or isn't a horror movie.
That picture at the top suggests this is an inexpensive show.
"the script is laden with heavy-handed foreshadowing and a psychosexual twist many viewers will see coming long before it happens."
It's now 7:33 PM on 10/3/2015 and the plagiarized material persists in the article above. I wonder if John Teti and the blue ribbon panel on this critical issue will come in on a Sunday.

AV Club comments: "Let me tell you about all the artists that I hate, and how I don't think they're great, either!"
