The perception in the beginning was that it was a 'black' show. Hardly any of the sites even bothered reviewing it, until it became a hit. I never said it was a show meant for black people even once.
I'd much prefer for her to kill Mellie.
I wonder why so many people think that the bomb is actually meant for Fitz? The minute it was suggested that the bomb was meant for Fitz and that Maya was helping to "facilitate" whatever terrorism act was going to happen, I was instantly suspicious. Shonda rarely lets us have so many juicy details without a twist…
Oh darling, it's ALWAYS a race thing, and regardless of how badly or well Olivia is written, there's always going to be a racial element. Just because people deny that they're historically predicated to not work as hard to understand people who don't look like themselves doesn't mean it's not true.
But why should she? It's her firm, they can all say no and go and work somewhere else if they don't like it, Huck included. What CEO of any firm ever gets their own hands dirty? I find that people watch this show in such a narrow-minded tunnel-visioned way.
I think it's interesting, prior to the last couple of episodes where Fitz's character has pretty much been decimated, I found that the people who hated him the most were people who either didn't bother watching the show until late in season two, or binge-watched the entire thing in a very short period of time.
The way that Fitz is being written, you DON'T think that's the reaction you're supposed to have? You don't think that the writers are aware of how he's being written to be a crappy person?
What I hope is that Mellie runs away with Andrew to Whocareswhere and we can focus on Liv and OPA again.
So can we talk about how Andrew was chasing Fitz's wife 12 years ago with the intention of seducing her? Had Mellie been willing, he'd have screwed her, and not given a second thought about Fitz. But yeah, he's the better guy. GTFOH.
So by your logic, Fitz had every reason to beat Mellie's behind once he learned about her part in making him a fraudulent president?
So your answer is yes, that it was perfectly acceptable for Jake to physically attack Olivia because it's a TV show? Good to know.
Did you really think that Jake grabbing a 90lbs woman by the throat and pinning her against the wall was fair? What if Fitz had done that to Mellie? Would that have been "fair" too? What if Fitz had slapped Mellie? Would you have cheered?
Sonia, have you noticed how neither you nor any of the other reviewers/tv critics ever talk about all the ways that Olivia is physically man handled on this show. You actually wrote the following:
That's my point, if Olivia couldn't have slapped him herself, then Mellie's was good enough for me. Not for Mellie's beef, but for Olivia having to be the one who tore into Andrew.
That's actually a really good point. She has walked away from Fitz on a number of occasions herself for the good of his presidency. She walked away in episodes 107, 208, and episodes 222, mainly to save his presidency.
I agree actually, it would have been more interesting for her to go to Mellie, but I think she knows that Andrew was the instigator of that relationship and would have just kept pressuring Mellie, so in essence Olivia went straight to the source.
They are more likely to kill off Mellie than the lead character sweetie… But the good thing is, if Mellie goes from Scandal, she then has a chance to lead a show of her own. I wont be watching, but at least it's a way of getting rid of all he overzealous Mellie fans who think the show is about her. I have been praying…
Fitz deserved the slap for asking Olivia to take care of the Andrew problem rather than handling it like a man. Unlike everybody else, I wasn't overly bothered that Uncle Andrew chose power over Mellie, he showed himself to be no different to everyone else on the show. He knew deep down that she wouldn't choose him,…
Dude, she's not there to be Mellie's friend, she's there to get Fitz elected. She works for Fitz., and if Mellie's side-ho was a risk to his winning the election, then she did what any fixer would do. I think people keep forgetting that Olivia is working to get Fitz elected, her and Mellie aren't bosom buddies for…
