Cheers also had dreadful ratings first season, like it was literally the lowest rated show in prime time. These days it would have been pulled off air after a few episodes for reruns of some crap and end up on Hulu in 3 months time.

I don't mind watching a network sitcom knowing its likely to be canceled, the story is secondary to the comedy for me. on the other hand I won't bother with even starting to watch a Network high concept drama's any more.

Sorry about the delay in replying I have had sick cats (that are all better now). I did a little googling myself tv.com lists the synopses and air dates for 16&17. You were right about the final two airing months later. Episode 15 aired 4/26/01 and 16&17 aired on 8/28/01.

I actually ended up watching all the episodes on dailymotion (they have 15 of 17 episodes - missing the last 2).
