I was hoping you'd talk some about Mormon culture in this video. Having grown up Mormon when this movie came out, it's difficult for me to not see this movie through a "Mormon" lens. While there are movies catered directly to Mormon audiences, this was one of the few "mainstream" movies that had a big affect in Mormon

Me too. In 7th grade I remember reading an article in Star Wars Insider comparing the Eworks defeating the Empire to the Viet Cong/Minh and the U.S. Also not really.

NO, THE EWOKS DON'T SUCK

Cause he's in this thing toom and they didn't mention him, and his teeth are definitely worthy of mention. In fact, the other day I took a picture of his teeth to my oral surgeon and said "This is the look I'm looking for."

don't forget trinidad james!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, let's spend all our hard-earned cash on props from the remake of Race to Witch Mountain that will be worthless in about two decades!!!!

HEY NO "BEST USE OF OUTDATED BUT STILL LOVABLY USELESS HOME VIDEO TECHNOLOGY" FOR REGULAR SHOW?????

Surprised that The A.V. Club doesn't realize that poster is actually for the unproduced Batman vs. Superman. There's also supposedly a Confessions of a Shopaholic poster somewhere in this film, not that anyone cares.

Tunisia actually used photographs of the decaying sets in promotional posters for their tourism agency a few years ago- of course, that was before the Arab Spring.

Haha, that's great. I considered making new alignments but ultimately just threw that bit of the game out. I'll tell you something, I definitely gained a new respect for people who can actually read all those manuals and learn all the rules. Making all that shit up wore me out, even with the minimal rules we played

Oh, I also watched a shit-ton of Regular Show, remembered my love of Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend" because of Regular Show, dug into Milo's new mixtape Cavalcade, remembered my love of JCVD's Bloodsport and America's "Horse With No Name" because of Cavalcade, and played my first ever game of D&D.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering too, since I don't really have any gauge of how big any of them are in their home countries.

I guess Pacific Rim was okay. MY biggest problem wasn't the characterization; it was the fact that every scene that did not include fighting looked like it could have been an episode of Bones or NCIS. I hate high-definition. This was the first movie I've ever seen in a theater where I felt like it probably would have

I really think Moebius' Silver Surfer deserves to be on this list, since it's one of my favorite superhero series, but at the same time, I'm not sure if you could even consider Moebius an "alt-comics" artist.

"Sunshine Superman" by Donovan was the first one that came to my mind but it wasn't mentioned here, unless I missed it or something. In fact, Grant Morrison even created an alternate version of Superman based on the song.

Also shouts out to my sister for introducing me to a lot of music in middle school. Then she got a real life and stuff so I overtook her in that department.

Growing up Mormon in a small-ish town in Texas, I was sheltered from a lot of stuff, but luckily my parents were pretty liberal and fairly open-minded despite their religion, and I have them to thank for introducing me to so much stuff. My mom read to me every night as a kid for a long time, introducing me to books

Roland Emmerich don't know shit about textures and hues!

Also, I think some of the Harry Potter films you used clips from came out in November.

Thank you, A.V. Club, for showing me how fake the effects in The Day After Tomorrow look ten years later.
