I kind of like Love & Monsters. . . It's. . . different. A little too creepy at the end, there. His girlfriend is a tile. But I don't hate it.

The thing that I liked about it was that the only other time I remember the Doctor mentioning a movie was when 10, newly regenerated, starts quoting The Lion King. Seems like the Doctor ignores movies. . . other than keeping on top of Disney animated features.
I would have liked to have seen him more with River. . . and with Jack! But yeah, good with Pearl. Wish last season would have been season 8 (getting rid of season 8), and then we could have gotten two seasons of Capaldi without Clara.
Yep, "nostalgic and fun" is my explanation for enjoying The Unquiet Dead, as well.
This episode wasn't great. Kind of nondescript and boring, wasted potential. The fact that the humans were not even a tiny threat the the Martians made it uninteresting. Didn't feel like anything new. The Empress reminded me of the spider Empress from the Runaway Bride, her voice and teeth, mostly. We've seen…
Wow, when you list all of Gatiss' episodes together like that, it's pretty damn underwhelming. As you say, Night Terrors and Sleep No More are the only ones that are painful to sit through on every level, but the others are either low but watchable episodes or middling episodes.
It definitely would have been a violation, if he'd done it to Clara (as she pointed out) or Bill. But with Donna, even though it was a HUGE bummer, it didn't seem like a violation. She was the Doctor/Donna at the time. She knew what was happening, and what he planned to do about it. She knew she would straight up…
Yep, if I witness it in real life, all I can think is that they're acting like petulant children. . .
Oh, hahaha, good to know. I've had Australian friends, but it's never come up. Good info to have before I visit the country and make an ass of myself. Plus, I'm kind of happy to hear there are more ways to say "fucking" in English. We can always use more of those.
I am rewatching the show now, and I can say season 4 was definitely more frustrating the second time (years later). I remember being a little annoyed with Rita the first time I watched this season (though I never hated her as some did, it makes sense that it would be hard to trust Dexter, plus. . . hey Darla!). This…
It was actually really awesome acting!
Hahaha, I almost said the exact same thing, that they were on a break. . . including mentioning Friends. No one can ever mention anyone being on a break ever again without thinking of Friends.
She told him last season before they were married, though, that she wasn't comfortable with the idea of him keeping his apartment, when he mentioned he planned to. So the fact that he not only lied about it, but lied after she already told him she wasn't cool with it, is kind of shady. Especially since she thinks…
Your last paragraph was very interesting, especially knowing what I know now (have watched the series through to the finale).
The end of season two has some really great stuff.
Deb just gets better and better, for me!
Great episode. I'm rewatching now, and I remembered being quite annoyed with Miguel Prado the first time (not as annoyed as by Lila, of course), but this time I'm quite enjoying him. Perhaps partially because this time around I'm binge watching instead of waiting for each episode to air, which means Lila was just on…
No, this comments section is the first I'm hearing of it. Several people here seem very enthusiastic, but then when I go to the show page, a lot of the comments are negative. Guess I need to check it out for myself!
Thanks so much for the detailed, thoughtful reply! I didn't consider it long-winded. ;) This gives me the confidence to know I can enjoy some old who without starting at the VERY beginning! Your comments at the end are so true. TV should never feel like a chore. If it starts to, I should probably just sweep the…
Just 6.
