2 years ago you could not realise how close you were to predicting the future.

That video is so cute, I grew ovaries so my ovaries could go into overdrive.

One of those actors that is always great whenever they pop up in a random role. Perfect get.

I was going to do this because I'll be in the US for my first Halloween but it was $135 for the suit and that's just too much for a joke that will be funny exactly once.

When Arrested Development and Curb Your Enthusiasm were on in the early 2000s, as a young, inexperienced comedy nerd, I found myself thinking "now this is how you do a sitcom. Unlikeable characters doing funny things. Other comedies try to make their characters too likeable, and they're afraid to be cynical, and

I can vouch heavily for this book. It is one of the funniest things I've ever read. I've broken laughing out loud on the train more times than I have reading anything else or listening to any podcast. It also has moments that are truly beautiful (before Norm quickly transitions to another laugh out loud moment), and

Internet Comedy seems to solely be tv show + credits from a different tv show.

I think the song that gives me chills most consistently is "So Come Back, I Am Waiting" by Okkervil River. Gorgeous, dark, and cathartic. I won't to scream along with Will Sheff every time I hear it.

I love Maps musically, but I tend to prefer covers of it than the original. Karen O's vocals are just too disaffected "cool" for someone who's trying to get their lover to "wait" and convince them that "they don't love [him like she loves him]". We get it Karen, you live in New York.

So you listen to almost all podcasts?

I think the Fuck and Run on Girls! Girls! Girls! is the better version. I can listen to that on repeat for ages.

Yeah, B99 often has a problem with trying to fit too much into such a small amount of time, but even with a 3 episode arc, it felt like it needed to make narrative shortcuts and could have had more fun exploring the comedic possibilities of what it set up. This should have been a 4 or even 5 episode arc.

I think Mindy Project's big advantage is its joke writing. So many comedies these days are "prestige comedies" that focus more on tone and emotion than jokes. I like a lot of those, some of them are my favourite shows, but it feels like there's too many. As much as a narrative mess as TMP is, it has some of the best

A) I don't think that's what they were aiming for.
B) The solution to cyber bullying can't be "the bullied should go into hiding".
C) I don't think mental health professionals are flummoxed about why people who are bullied commit suicide.

Overall, I thought this was a pretty great episode of South Park, but I think the equating leaving twitter with suicide thing was a little off base. The "murder" scene and the mass breakup were funny because they're so over the top, the twitter "suicide" seems to suggest the "worst" thing about being cyber bullied is

This album is reliably great, as all the post-reunion albums have been. It's hard to rave about having your expectations met, though, even if those expectations are high.

I'd slot the new album between Beyond and I Bet on Sky on that list.

The problem with making the guard just an awful person is that it does undercut that message. The problem is systematic murder, not individual murder. If a bad guy does a bad thing then it's too easy to put the bad thing at the feet of the individual. If it's a "normal" person, then the criticism is easier to put at

For the most part I wasn't impressed. Frankie Sinatra is the worst song I've heard all year, but I absolutely hated Frontier Psychiatrist when it first came out, so much so that I entirely wrote the band off. Later I heard Since I Left You shooting pool in a bar and immediately fell in love, and ended up getting into

I really liked this. Run Fast didn't leave an impression on me (I liked it at the time but don't remember one song from the album now), though I saw them on the tour for that album and really enjoyed it. This one has a number of songs I'm going to be listening to on repeat for a while (Planet You, Let Me Go, Roses
