Well we're 2 for 3 right now which is a bummer. I just rewatched season 1 and goddamn this show used to be a show stopper. Holy crap season 1 is fucking amazing, hardly a single flaw (a couple awkward lines of dialogue and some acting in the first few episodes). Also going from season 1 to this was some serious

tbh when Raven said Nylah I had no idea who she was talking about

Oh my goodness this episode felt like season 1 and I LOVED it! Visually still on par with season 2-onward but tonally I got a much more s1 vibe. I don't want to give the all clear yet but we may finally be back on the top of our game here!

oh really? I totally forgot she was married to Ronnie and that he died, it was only her entire character's purpose for existing to remind us 5 times an episode

that's what i've been saying

whole heartedly agree

at least it's doing something, CW verse just sits in that furniture talking about where it should go and then whining when someone disagrees

it's a plot devouring machine

UGH

something wonderful

it's really incredible what they've accomplished in the last year and a half

omg thats fucking true

lol yeah it's absurd for a show that is so grounded (pun? double pun?) its absolutely ludicrous

they really do don't they

hooo boy did season 3 have problems. I felt them carry over to some extent here as well, and the music remains as distracting as ever IMO, insanely dramatic horns blaring over the dialogue is a little extra even for my tastes.
That said I love this show (mostly the first two seasons) with all my heart and I'm still

yeah that was fantastic

oooohhh damn that would have been good

This show has been the greatest surprise of the entire year
I can't believe how absolutely amazing it is
I'm also starting to think that perhaps Xavier is just a stalker of Evie's who made up the whole asteroid thing just to get with her. That would be super dark but I think they could pull it off with grace, especially

yes they absolutely need to learn how to pull off SHIELD's long form storytelling: by making it shorter form

yeah it hasn't been able to recover since season 1 ended, and more spectacle won't help (re Legends), they need to focus on characters, and they're failing hard in that department
