I've been enjoying this season way more than its 40th, even though there's nothing dramatically different other than Rudnitsky, and I finally figured out why - this is the first time in a while that the show doesn't feel like it's going through a transition season. I don't know if it's just me, but I've been thinking

I remember playing that game when Nasim Pedrad was on the show, but it's possible Sasheer may have it worse.

Boyle saying that he’d rather be shot than not celebrate Jake’s birthday properly means a lot considering he’s legitimately gotten shot before.

The thing that saved it for me was "Where's the nearest train station?" because she at least knew that it was pretty damn cringeworthy.

I have a feeling that if Amy were there along with Holt, it would have gone a lot faster.

I think in the Christmas episode, her mother mentions wasting all that money on school so that Rebecca could live in California, so maybe she received some sort of financial aid/scholarships and then her mom helped her out for the rest of it.

It took "suck off" for Boyle to finally realize he makes poor wording choices.

I was surprised they didn't play the rule of three like they did with the Halloween episodes and have Doug Judy arrested this time around. But I do like Craig Robinson on this show, so I don't mind if he shows up next again next season.

Great episode, but I don't get how Paula made it to the beach before the party bus? It takes four hours with traffic!

I'm really, really sorry! I was actually just catching up as well and didn't stop to think that other people would be doing the same. I apologize, didn't mean to spoil it for anyone.

Now that they've given Greg another potential love interest in the last episode and Rachel Bloom has won a Golden Globe & a Critic's Choice Award for the show, I'm glad it's probably going to be Option #1.

That was a really nice scene. I didn't realize how much I liked the film until I started tearing up during that moment.

I was also surprised that Dratch didn't show up, considering she's also in their movie.

Last week the alien sketch was pretty big, and this week Kate McKinnon's Angela Merkel is still trending in the news. Next week, Amy and Tina (and undoubtedly, a whole bunch of other SNL alums) may have a good chance of still being talked about beyond the weekend. SNL is on a pretty good streak right now.

That actually reminds me of a clip from Billy on the Street where Billy asks someone about Melissa McCarthy and the guy wasn't familiar with her. Then he mentions liking some show called Mike & Molly and Billy just storms off in outrage.

I will never get tired of this show's slow-motion, musical montages.

Yeah, and a lot of the things he's done this season - giving up the credit for the arrest he made in order to get Holt his captain position back, telling Holt to be a bigger person so that his ex would come and help Sharon, etc. - are not things I would have expected from him in Season 1.

Exactly. I was pleasantly surprised at where some of the sketches ended because normally they stretch on for one or two minutes too long.

I loved the bit in Hemsworth's monologue where it shows the last time he hosted from a few months ago and then it cut back to him in a similar outfit and the same pose.

I suspect both Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon will show up as well.
