Yeah, the system by which libraries acquire ebooks is deeply messed up, so it limits the selection. I use the NYPL, though, which is one of the best.

Joke's on them! I use my Kindle solely to read unpublished manuscripts and buy ebooks from B&N!

That's why I don't say, "Trust NBC."

Oh good, you've already gotten into the spirit of the show!

Like the human cello episode. Perfect, genius use of sound: the ringing in Will's ear made the basement scene so much more frightening than it already was!

The plots are dumb, the character work is usually half-assed, but holy cats is the music good.

It's definitely not AS good, and it takes a while to warm up to. Emma especially. And I don't know if I'll ever do more than tolerate Harriet, who is painfully awkward. But, after giving it a couple weeks to hook me, I got into it, and I was glad to see it return from hiatus today. (Also, I really do love their

Because Austen was a brilliant writer, she pulls off the extremely neat trick of making Emma both unlikable and lovable. Most adaptations don't manage both. Emma Approved started with unlikable and is only slowly approaching lovable by handing her some moments of vulnerability, so yeah, it takes some willingness to go

I LOVED the actor who played Darcy. I thought he managed the difficult balance between being awkward & standoffish in a way that would obviously alienate Lizzie while also showing the actual thoughtfulness and humor that ultimately attracted her. He had a difficult part to play, and I thought he did it very well.

I'm going to miss the friendship between Leslie & Ann. They haven't done much with it lately, but it's still one of the more honest and realistic female friendships on TV.

I also hope that's not the season-long plot structure. One of the things I loved about the first season was that vague but painfully strong sense of foreboding: I knew something TERRIBLE was going to happen, but I had no idea what it would be. So I don't want this season to have such a clear endpoint.

What a weird, weird choice of song.

Grimm & grim, NBC's Friday night offerings.

And she absolutely NAILED the mannerisms. Well done, little girl.

"A vertical expression of a horizontal desire."

The assassination attempt TOTALLY came out of nowhere. Why on Earth did that guy want to kill Teddy? How did he know Teddy would be hanging out in that random parking lot at that time? What's going on here? It feels like a cheap attempt to drum up drama. But if it gets Peggy off the show, I guess I don't mind that

When we first met Brent, he was already Will's ex. This episode is the first time they've had an actual rendezvous in the show's timeline. So while I agree it'd be nice to see them actually, like, touch each other, the way everyone else on this show does, we've only had one opportunity so far. (Though yeah, loved the

Man, how easy would it be to hate Juliet? She makes stupid decisions, she constantly antagonizes everyone around her, she never learns from her mistakes…but because Hayden Panettiere is so good in this role, Juliet is the one I love best, the one I'm always rooting for.
