It's actually the same exact scene as in the book. But dig this: I hated the ending in the film, loved it in the book. I won't spoil anything else except to say context is eveything, and Hanson bungles the landing, which is why I can't get on board with much of the laurels thrown at it.

It was supposed to be "Frenchman Bob", but, you know, they took our jobs and all that.

Meh. Too much work. I'd rather go the Emilio Fernandez route: shoot the critic down like a dog in the middle of a crowded street. Get acquited anyways. Get drunk and hang with Peckinpah.

I'm still disappointed they're not broadcasting actual AAA though, as was planned. Or did they? I haven't really followed the network (which happens when you own most of those Shaw films).

I haven't really followed rasslin' since middle school, but recently at Childhood home and with limited cable options I caught a syndicated airing of Ring of Honor, and they had a match that reminded me just how fun it can be.

For that psychic fact (and her questionable culpability), I really think it was a mistake to drop the character after the storyline wrapped up. And I really hope they incorporate her into the next season.

Exley's trajectory is a betrayal of the novel and disgusting on its own terms.

You also forgot how they can force you off the show and unto a shitty sitcom of their choosing.

A study of two contrasting responses to post-war masculinity? Certainly no point there.

And he does DP!

Hey, It could still work the other way around!

Oh, there most certainly is! Something about Trillium Fortnight having "the self-conscious gait of a punk in an exercise yard".

So you don't think Anderson has amassed a rich body of work? Because if anything deserves a downvote, it's that. Harumph.

You're wrong, of course. But what everyone neglects is that Julee Cruise's Floating into the Night is one of the GREAT album of the 1980s.

Every time someone suggests that There Will Be Blood is better than The Master, a frog plummets to it's death.

I'm not sure where you put the emphasis on those last two words, but I'll be in my bunk.

Some people pay top dollar for that stick.

Anyone who doesn't like "Memories" or "Iodine" is beyond help. Only Cohen could make high school prom into a sort of mystic allegory.
