Got me there…

I'll give you Captain Needa. Difference is that actually worked as a line with a solid set-up. Can't think of any other examples though. Meanwhile, I could give a fuck less about the extended universe, as is true of *most* people who see the films. If I had to read the comics to understand the character,

I agree, it seemed somehow shoddily made…one thing that struck me was the red in the lenses of his mask, it almost looked like you were seeing through them adding to the impression that it was a kid's party performer.

Name one other time that he makes a joke…

Are those supposed to be examples of one-liners? Because there are very few to zero 'clever' puns/jokes in them…

I was really surprised they cut the "I rebel" line, especially because I saw several people at the theatre wearing shirts with that line on it..

I think someone else suggested it around these parts, but wouldn't it have been wonderful if this were a single-season TV show? We'd have more time to get to know the characters and develop/execute the plan so that it had a chance to be more than 'plug A into B, then hit the switch to get the keycard.'

It did.

Had I only scrolled down a little bit before commenting…I literally couldn't believe my ears when that happened.

Thank the Force for that Vader scene at the end because his first appearance almost ruined the film for me. His voice was off, for one, he was framed in a fashion that made him seem small/less intimidating, and his dialogue was ATROCIOUS. DARTH VADER DOES NOT MAKE FUCKING QUIPPY ONE-LINERS.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find PLENTY to care about, American or otherwise.

Is this somehow a new concept to you? It's been around a decade since John Wayne was hocking Coor's Light from beyond the grave; a very murdered Tupac has held numerous concerts as what I believe to be a ghost. And what happens in a Fast and Furious situation, in which tragedy strikes unexpectedly? Is it preferable

That was unbearable…

I'm pretty sure AMC doesn't stand for anything anymore, like how KFC no longer stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken.

A disturbing number of people do…he will almost certainly shatter their faith, but there really is a basket of deplorables that love him, even if it's not as big as Clinton suggested…

You're hired!

He's proven to be a character who doesn't exactly offer much opportunity for cross-pollination between those who hate him and those who love him…my fear would be that those who see him for what he really is and hate him for it may find some semblance of humanity through the skewering. As the initial commenter said,

Extra points for bringing 30 Rock into the discussion, even if the Alec Baldwin and SNL parallels are awful close ;).

You're quite a ways behind the curve on that one, I'm afraid…

This is the downside of shows like SNL mocking him. The target of satire can often be normalized, if not humanized…
