Reading comments here made me realize: how awesome would it be if Elena was the one who died and the death that stuck?

I thought the same thing - there was no point to her going with Damon to their death. She is such a waste.

Oh right. Oh well, I'm sure they'll find a way.

Why? She has the spell. Did I miss something?

I don't know if I agree that they handled Alaric's death well. If his initial death had stuck, yes. But then he came back as the Evil Vampire and died and eh - the show needs more of an adult presence, and I've always loved Matt Davis so I'm happy he's back.

Lexie and Rose should hang out, you're right.

Well, she did try to kill them first. As Silas said: "Bygones?" I don't think they're bad people, and they understood that people they cared about had died.

Didn't Damon and Alaric save her though?

Yeah but she was holding hands with Damon, so whatever saved her probably saved him by proxy.

Part of me wants Damon to stay dead because that would be exciting and risky (and I much prefer to lose him than Stefan), but part of me wants him to come back just so I don't have to hear all these fans whining about how they're never watching the show again. Ugh.

If I remember correctly, at first she said she hadn't fought with anyone on the jury, and then she expanded it to everyone, period.

I have a feeling there will be some sort of family visit next week, when Trish said "Do you want me to be your Mama or do you want me to win this game?"

I really don't understand how Trish can sit there and say she's never fought with anyone in this game when Lindsey literally left the game to get away from Trish.

I'm just happy Josh lived. And that Auntie Bex was back. And that the opening scene of the birth with the letter voiceover and Klaus pinned to the wall and Haley looking at him was just so well done. I was really impressed with the show, and excited for Season 2.

I actually thought it was cool that they kept his face how he would realistically look if died by smothering. It was frightening and creepy and made it more real (although I can see how people would think otherwise).

I had the same reaction.

It would definitely be something different for a change. Not sure what more they could do with the Damon/Elena relationship.

Yes, he's essentially rendered the triangle moot, which is nice.

Total troll, God love him.

I remain convinced that Stefan (and Enzo) will be back. They are two of the rare things that actually still work on the show, and it would be TVD suicide to let them go.
