Well, Park was a former B-Boy. Look up his old hip hop group on youtube, Ill Again. Actually decent stuff!

He is not without his criticism but there are actually a number of great, insightful interviews with him out there.

Re-reading the Vulture article on him. I gotta empathize with his frustration but yeah, unfortunately there comes a point where such a huge shift of perspective being introduced needs to be softened greatly for the general viewing audience. It's unfortunate but it has to (re)start somewhere. I'll take what I can get.

Exaaactly. Can this be a pinned post at the top of every FoTB episode review?

Oh I didn't think he had any actual hand in writing, but from what I read/heard it seemed like some of his input was considered. Hmm, that sounds weird.
While I wasn't expecting to see gangster Papa Huang or dope smuggling Eddie, I would've liked the real Eddie's involvement to continue in some capacity but oh well.

To be fair, I actually don't see too much criticism towards him and it drives me nuts. I just feel his character is so contrived.
But yeah. That kiss came from nowhere.

True but I can't imagine what kind of pressure or whatever they must've faced for a first season show AND the first one to star an Asian American family in 20 years. I still would've liked to see how Huang's input, however limited, would've guided things.

It definitely feels like we've lost that extra something with Huang's departure. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy this show but I think it's part in the fact that I've settled for less. Some people might not take to Huang's personality but I really appreciated his perspective and enthusiasm.

I like this show and all but I agree. While any first season may be uneven, I was hoping we would get into more of that lived perspective that is so rare in tv these days. This season has been fine for what it is but it's missing those "really-real" moments that set it apart from just another family sitcom. Where the

Thaaaat would actually work for Alphona's more creative designs (security daemons, The Gibborum, and those dog villains near the tail end of Vaughan's run)!

Poor Lincoln. They really want us to care about him.

I remember reading Jezebel's weekly fangirling over Girls and then finally deciding to cover this far superior show once it was announced that it got cancelled. Classic Jez.

The only obstacle would be Old Lace I guess. Or we can see how far we've gotten with animatronics. I won't accept CGI because I want to see a crappy, fake dinosaur.

Legion better have an almost Begbie-level accent or I'm not watching.

I vote Runaways next. And what the heck, it's only been the first issue but Paper Girls seems like it was made for the screen.
