I see it a lot too, and they are all strong shows (Catastrophe, Casual, Difficult People, etc) IMO. Liking characters has nothing to do with whether I enjoy a show.

Yeah, Paul is some day at the beach. Don't forget, this is kind of a cartoonish show, and they are both cartoonish characters (probably the most). As far as I'm concerned, this show is always funny, in spite of the forays into depression, and PTSD, which are kind of sweet.

Very much not. I find it annoying. I like to analyze what I saw, and then see what happens next. For me, everyone with their theories is out of fucking control. But I'm an old coot (at least in spirit). We aren't part of the show, we watch the show.
