This is the kind of movie that NEEDS a Spoiler Space. Because, like, I'm not actually going to watch it, but the fun is in knowing all the dumb details of how ridiculous (or not) it gets.

That funeral scene was beautiful and tense and moving, but the last interaction between Luke and Misty felt really tone deaf. She brings up a legitimate concern that his actions will cause collateral damage and suggests that he leave in order to protect people, and then he ignores that valid point and implies that she

MZS is one of my very favorite critics.

Would you say that about a room full of Hindus with terrible taste in film? Muslims? Atheists?

I feel that's not okay to joke about.

Rebecca Hall is weirdly underrated. Makes everything she's in better.

Twice.

Most actors: "as nice as they are, they're no Gary Oldman."

The reason I don't like this is because it takes something that's metaphorical and poetic and makes it bluntly literal. Things secretly really being other things is not usually a great revelation.

The Liv Tyler/Bruce Willia goodbye made me cry and actually really shook me and made me think about what it would be like if my dad died suddenly. It's the main part I actually remember about that movie. Also, animal crackers … *shudders and almost vomits*

The Island: "The almost-thinking man's Michael Bay movie."
Armageddon: "The almost-feeling man's Michael Bay movie."

Hur?

Would watch.

That's awesome!
But you don't need kids to memorize Star Wars! ;)

Which ended up basically being a bad two hour trailer for what might be a great Netflix original series.

On the other hand, additional movies that ruin things can be just ignored/hated into almost-non-canon status, eg. the prequels.

Everytime I rewatch Empire, I find it odd (once I noticed the clothes thing) how blatantly they were setting up Lando to take over the charming rogue role if Harrison Ford didn't come back, which was a distinct possibility.

Space Jimmy Smits!

My two favorite films of last year!
