Oh, because sometimes shows are deliciously bad and it's almost like watching the Mommie Dearest of something. You haven't hate watched until you've hate watched "Under The Dome," for example. Or Brothers & Sisters when it was on the air.

Alien Jesus: I took it to mean that Kevin "knows the truth" that the GR is peddling: that all of this striving for normalcy is pointless (and his cracking up and cracked up family is "proof" of that.)
