This is a really good summary.  The only thing I would take issue with is characterizing Roland, the main character, as a "military/social leader."  I think it's probably closer to "Jedi Knight/Samurai Warrior/Monk," ported into the body of an old west gunfighter.  And yes, he is as awesome as he sounds, at least

I've also heard about this. I was actually scrolling through to make sure somebody mentioned it, because what a fucking awesome idea.  I hereby demand that someone in Chicago do this.  Even in a swimming pool, I seriously do not think I would made it through the whole thing in the water.

I'm sure you've already read/heard about this many times before, perhaps even on this very website, but just in case: there is a completely viable theory that, should you choose to embrace it, will allow you to believe the movie does in fact end fifteen minutes before, and that [spoilers] the entire ending all takes

Todd, you're exactly right about Challengers.  I'm a big NP fan, and it's probably my favorite as well.  "Challengers," "Adventures in Solitude," and "Go Places" are gorgeous, heartbreaking songs.  Doesn't hurt the album that it's heavy on the Neko Case, either.  And "Myriad Harbor" is probably my favorite Behar song

Looks like, from the TAL blog, they're going to do just that, on next week's show….

Ah, this is really sad.  He was undoubtedly one of TAL's best contributors, and was a wonderful writer and performer.  As someone said below, his piece during the TAL live show about losing his arm, and dancing in spite of that loss, is one of the most heartbreaking and awesome things I've heard on the radio in a long

I completely agree, and here's a "cool story, bro" to boot: Blues Traveler was a huge favorite when I was in my younger high school years in the early 90s.  During this time I saw them play a ton, and they always (to my 15-year-old-ears, anyway) put on an amazing live show.  Sure, John Popper noodles around with
