Yeah, I think saint miracles these days are 'a person wears the prospective Saint's medal while recovering from an illness.'

Well, Satan seems to be in on the whole thing to a suspicious degree. I'm not saying that the War in Heaven was a false flag operation, just asking questions…

True enough. Now, it is also an interesting question as to whether the requirements that Evangelicals tend to put on these movies will always render them terrible propaganda too.

The show House really impressed me for having House and several other characters as atheists and didn't bother to have them change their opinions. I think a lot of shows have a nonreligious/atheist character in them, especially in science themed shows. TBBT may be terrible in many ways, but I did like that Sheldon

Religulous also got the D at the AVclub. Agora got a C or a C-, if I recall. Though honestly, I thought both of them were fine movies, even if Bill Maher is an ass and Agora is about a time in history that isn't well documented.

Being a critic of any sort means having to deal with these 'not for you' movies, and having to figure out how to review them. I don't think it's unfair to just approach it like you would any other movie, because it's not like those marketing this movie are just showing it in churches or what not. Just telling people

You have to feel bad for religious people with today's miracles. Even Jesus didn't do miracles as great as Moses, but sick people getting better on their own is just pretty lame. Putting your 'miracle' label on the absence of a bad outcome when someone is under heavy medical care is a pretty small thing to pin your

No, but you have to wonder if getting a full course of antibiotics and replenishing your gut bacteria wouldn't do the trick.

Jesus Christ Superstar is pretty catchy.

What's interesting is that you still don't see a lot of stories about people who say, lose their child, lose their faith, and get their life back together while still not being religious. I've noticed this time and time again as a TV plot… someone swears off faith, and it is so important to the plot that they get it

I remember finding the comedy Saved to be about the best 'spiritual not religious' movie I've seen. The characters generally learned and grew out of their simplistic religious ideas, but they didn't become atheists either.

Yeah, even if you throw in Free Will, it's still hard to excuse a creator willing to torture his creations forever for making incorrect choices with incomplete information. And really, even if you did give people everything they need to know, God still smacks of the rich kid that wants everyone at the party to like

My argument would be that Christians can easily get their character based dramas and resolutions from the same place the rest of us do, in major Hollywood movies. There are Christians that insulate themselves entirely from outside culture, but that subset alone probably isn't enough to give Passion of the Christ $400

I'll have to go with Jesus Christ Superstar. For somehow being a Christian themed musical and somehow having a more positive message about sexuality than Grease.

Maybe Jack Black and RDJ would be interested in joining? They may as well go full Vietnam.

Yup. Totally. *wink*

So…. Reptilians?

I believe so… on Person of Interest he tends towards being a bit wry and tough, but I'm sure he could do more if need be. He was the King of Kings after all.

Publish or Perish.

I could see Jim Caviezel doing the role. He's older, knows how to drive a truck into a car and punch a dude right in the mouth.
