I can't be the only one who would've preferred to see Cersei Lannister reprise the Sarah Connor role instead of Daenerys Targaryen? I thought Lena Heady was great on that show.
I think Salvation is Worthington's best performance. The scene where he realizes he's a machine was well-done. I thought he was far more bland in Avatar.
This was one of my problems with 4. I guess I was expecting L.A. to look like it did in the future scenes in T1 and T2, just complete ruins.
Yeah, I loved the ending of T3. The fact that Judgment Day was inevitable made a lot of sense in that world. Time travel always creates a paradox, but at least Judgment Day still coming to fruition made narrative sense.
I actually liked Nick Stahl in Terminator 3 a lot. The plot left a lot to be desired, but I actually enjoyed how the ending was really negative and ambiguous. T2 implied that Judgment Day was stopped and was never going to happen; T3 was basically saying "Nope, it's inevitable, here comes the war!" And I felt the war,…
That's kind of how she started off on the show, though. She always had that passive-aggressive, controlling streak. A couple years removed from near-death can restore some of those old traits, I would imagine.
Yeah, Kristina seems like the type of mom that would have been guilt-tripping Haddie the whole time for not showing up an entire week before the wedding. "You're not showing up until the day of? Don't you think it would be nice to show up earlier so you can help us all set up? There's so much work to do, and everyone…
The music isn't that jarring, really. The opening version of the theme song is a slightly different live version that might not even be Joe Cocker, but it's pretty close. The rest of the episodes, there's a surprising amount of original songs from the broadcasts, and the ones that aren't, you don't really notice.
I find it amusing that they show Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison frequently on ABC Family. Raunchy PG-13 comedies with Adam Sandler aren't exactly Family viewing.
"And that's when I recalled the lesson that Dad had once taught me: There's lots of pretty, pretty ones that want to get you high, but all the pretty, pretty ones will leave you low and blow your mind."
She's really not. Her character is (by design) kind of an asshole, but I thought she gave a great performance in that movie.
My friends and I basically did the same thing to the House promos before that show premiered. "YOU'RE RISKING A PATIENT'S LIFE!" was our drunken battlecry for a while.
The way Tom sings "The voice inside moi-yed" is particularly egregious.
Thank you for your kind words of sympathy. I love this show, just this season in particular, coming months after the passing of my dad, makes it more emotional than usual for me. That "circle of life" theme always hits me hard. I'm also sorry to hear about your dad. It certainly sucks!
Well, this episode is going to kill me once I watch it. (Yes, I sometimes read reviews before I watch the episode. I know I'm not alone in that, so back off.) I'm practically in tears just reading the plot points. The whole Zeek arc has been really getting to me this season, having lost my father back in May, just 6…
I thought the same thing. You can get a single "fuck", maybe two, in a PG-13 movie, but you can't say "motherfucker" and get a PG-13 rating.
I thought the "born on 3rd, thought he hit a triple" thing was a Pearl Jam lyric.
I didn't expect any other outcome. I just didn't see Kerry as 'the guy' even though I voted for him. The emphasis on "family values" throughout that election also bugged me. "Those people want gays to marry! Those people don't support our troops because they are against the war! Did they forget about 9/11?! Dean was…
