Actually Metro is not an interface on top of the desktop. The desktop is just there for pre-Metro apps. And the whole thing about Metro is that you can delete or arrange the tiles. Right click on them and you'll see the option to unpin, etc.

I had the same thought, then I really thought about it and realized I'm next to never sitting at the desktop staring at my wallpapers (I use my apps maximized). At least you can customize the lock screen to a nice background.
That one got me too. I'm used to my phone and hitting the back button to close IE when there are no active webpages. Then I found out if you go to the top of the screen the cursor turns into a hand, click and drag all the way down and it closes the app. Works for any metro app.
If you want to make a flash drive bootable I do it manually. I use diskpart, select the disk, use the clean command to wipe all partitions. Create a primary partition, select it, format it and mark it as active. Done it's now a bootable device. Then you just extract the ISO to the flash drive and boot from it.
Since I make more than my wife, I claim married and 1 while she claims married but withhold at the single higher rate. In the end we get higher monthly paychecks and get refunds of close to $100. For people who just can't manage to keep money it savings throughout the year it makes sense for them to want a big refund.…
Peoples comments on Windows 8 crack me up. One side says get rid of the desktop and the other says get rid of metro. Metro is the default interface, the desktop is only there for backwards compatibility that way all your apps aren't suddenly useless. Once more developers make Metro designed apps, the desktop will not…
Yes, I made a bootable USB key and installed it from there (much faster). You'll need an install key. Go to the FAQ [windows.microsoft.com] and look for "Do I need a product key to install Windows 8 Consumer Preview?"
I've watched enough WRC to see the greats wreck in more spectacular fashion, I wouldn't judge him. You could tell when it initially slipped and was going to get away from him. That said I'm on my 2nd WRX and won't go back :)
We use tablets in our classrooms at the Law School and yes a physical keyboard is used. Since our tablets are held by a mounting arm it's conceivable that a certain angle could cause the tablet to switch orientation. It sounds like they've thought of many situations.
Toasts, are already a part of Windows phone and they are notifications. For example if a text, IM, app update, etcetera come in, a bar at the top appears with the message or notification. On the phone at least you can swipe it to the side to make it go away or if you tap it, it'll go to that app or specific message.
It's very different from what people are used to with Windows, but seeing as how I have a Windows Phone it feels so familiar to me. And yes it will run on old systems, in fact I'd say it gives them a new lease on life. I tossed it on to a 5yr old computer and it's running great, very responsive.
Ugh, sadly my wife had to have that used on her when the traditional ultrasound wasn't looking good. Turned out it we miscarried, that thing was able to give a clearer image at such an early stage.
Which why I do my own car work
I usually want to correct them too, but I've given up. It's not like they'd understand the difference.
Which is probably why many people wrongly call green anoles a chameleon, it bugs me. They however do change color to match their surroundings.
I saw those a week ot two ago on the Discovery channel. I told my wife I'd be afraid to walk around Madagascar for fear of stepping all over these little guys. On a side note I think chameleons are the coolest lizards ever!
This is guy nobody wants to play Jenga with at parties.
All big rigs are pretty much the same ~400HP but put down tons of torque for hauling heavy things. You don't need high horsepower since you won't be driving 150MPH, like you could stop something that heavy going that fast...
Remember if you bought a higher performing car, such as one that uses a turbo charger, then you'll want to stick with the high octane gas since the compression ratio will be high when it's under boost. For instance my 2011 WRX has a compression ratio of 8.5:1, that sounds low and it is but only because it has been…
