You know, there may be an official reason. I just use them interchangeably. My parents always said Persian, and I would assume they may have used it to distance themselves from the current Iranian regime? It’s a good question, I wish I had a better answer!

Been there. Seen that!

My SIL’s Persian BF uses this word with the rest of his friends and when I told them they were out of fucking line, they came at me with “I’m XXXX (whatever ethnic group), so it’s OK. I’m not being racist.” No, that’s not how it works. It’s not your word to use. Get the fuck outta here.

Right!?

This made me laugh out loud at my desk, in my very, very quiet office. Perfection.

Yessss!

Same!! I married into an Italian family and was told I absolutely must have a registry. So I did but told people it was optional and some of my friends couldn’t afford a gift and that was totally fine with me. I just wanted to throw a big, drunktastic party, so I did that and any gift was a happy bonus.

Totally understandable. Violet is a beautiful name! My whole life I wanted a unique name. My sister was given a beautiful, cultural name, and when I was born (an unexpected baby) my parents found my name in the dictionary. Jerks. Haha. But I love them, boring name or not, and I’m sure you’re daughter will feel the

Oh man, I really want to know her name now!! I am naming my son a slightly unusual name. And it’s a name - not an object or fruit. All the parents are on board, everyone we have told the name to (a select few) love the name, but I’m still hesitant to tell the greater public. Haha.

A cactus covered in rusty nails.

I’ve been thinking about this since I found out the little bean is a boy. Happy to hear I’m not the only one.

Thank you for the work you do!

From one preggo lady to another, I feel you. <3

HA! so true.

Thank you for the work you do! You are bad-ass and if you’re ever in Vancouver, I hope to buy you a drink! Or all the drinks - you’ll probably need it.

We are in the same boat, sister.

Hugs to you for your bravery and sharing your story. You are amazing. I’m glad to hear you had such a positive experience. <3

So sorry for all you’re going through. Internet hugs.

Why would Alessandra Abrosio shop for her own line... If it’s her own line, wouldn’t she have the pieces already... or get them for free. #girlbye
