The “streaming platform that’s run out of Mitch’s garage” vibe is strong and I love that for them.

Tubi’s the best! i saw someone say its like a virtual version of going to the video store as a kid, not knowing anything, and looking at all the weird covers.

Yeah, and a bunch of big name directors and actors told us The Flash was going to be the best superhero movie ever. And of course they would - these people are colleagues. Professional colleagues don’t really tend to badmouth each other in public.

NAILED IT!

It’s been pointed out that a lot of corporate investors also have investments in real estate, so it’s those stakeholders putting pressure on upper management.

RTO is about real estate. If people work from home, then there’s no justification for massive office rental payments in the centre of big cities.

I’m guessing this sort of “Watch <X> features on <Y> streaming service!” slideshows are how the few of you that are still employed at GMG are able to pay the bills. I subscribed to shudder because of this one. I hope you aren’t replaced by AI and the other comment sections on the sister sites continue to stay intact.

Inching closer and closer to the pop of the streaming bubble...

So you’re asking for an image of when Spock croaked?

I’ve had this experience (minus the son) with almost every one of my favorite comedies. My conclusion is that comedy is very dependent on surprise, as well as my mood at the time.

The biggest problem with Alien as a franchise is that everyone knows what the monster looks like, what its biology and life cycle are, etc. Prometheus and Covenant are flawed but I give Scott credit for making the Aliens a bit more varied and weird. I can see some of the influence of Carpenter’s Thing there (which

You should see what he carries in his pants.

As far as I can tell, based on things like the RPG and Dark Descent, the canon “explanations” from Prometheus and Covenant are being walked back a bit. The Space Jockeys and the Engineers are separate species, and David didn’t “create” the classic Alien so much as rediscover it by reverse-engineering the Engineers’

“They were still booing him when we came onstage!”

if that kramer vs kramer vs godzilla joke is any indicator this will be the third funniest movie of 1985.
