I can see why the Kotaku staff likes MLP articles, clearly it works great. As for myself I try not to think of internet arguments as a waste. Rather as honing my rhetorical skills and practicing my logical and linguistic analysis of arguments (both my own and others) :)

I think people really like trolling MLP articles. For one thing it always works so well.

I think he's trolling here...

What!!! You were trolling on a MLP article but not on MLP! I am super seriously shocked right now.

Hmmm. Are they soulless because of watching a girl's cartoon show? Seems like a fairly harsh standard for having a soul :)

I guess what you learned and many "geeks" have not learned is to recognize the bully inside. If you can do that then maybe you do not have to fall into the cycle of abuse. I definitely agree that some people in fandoms can be completely absurd in the way they treat more casual or new fans. As you noted, some people

Of course. As usual the source of contention is in the definition. I did find that info about how researchers define bullying/unpopularity interesting, definitely not how I was using it. But really, that makes a lot of sense and explains why I found your comments distressing. For me the adult in your example is how I

That is to say your assertion that Annalee's perspective is skewed implies that you are aware of a "superior" viewpoint. I would very much like to hear it and why you think it is superior.

I am not entirely sure to what you are referring to. I do not believe this article is suggesting that bullying is a good thing. If anything this article is about surviving and overcoming bullying, not proclaiming it as a positive. Furthermore I am not surprised that mental and physical trauma has lifelong

That was quite good. Some people think it was too long but I think that the side stories helped infuse the main storyline with more meaning, expressing the themes as powerfully as possible.

Some excellent stuff here. Some of which I haven't watched... added to my list :)

Ha, you remind me of myself, minimal clothing turnover. I tend to use a lot of electricity though so my environmental impact is relatively neutral.

Damn, there is something about this painting that I just love, I can't explain it but it's great!

That would be useful.

What about oxygen and nitrogen and hydrogen or even phosphorous. People always go on and on about carbon and how great it is but they always leave out these guys, so sad, you know they have feelings too!

Right back at you.
