$40 for a macbook pro fan is robbery. Even directly from apple it's $15 (inflated...which is like buying anything OEM). Getting the top case off the macbook pro is 17 screws and another 3 screws for the fan (I believe). maybe 20 minutes of work if you're doing it for the first time.
