Don’t know, being the Z06 is new with a warranty vs the 458 being used with no warranty.

The big difference is that the repairs on the 458 are likely way more expensive than repairs on the Z06

All it takes is for one dude to negotiate with them and the dealership has already won. “...if you cut the markup in half then we have a deal!” means the dealership makes $50k.

But if you have the money and desperately need a new Z06, paying a six-figure markup may be the only way to get one.

Im a fan of patina, but man this car would’ve looked way better with proper paint. Patina is more fitting for those home built daily driven builds. Where everything is a little rough around the edges but everything works. A build this caliber deserves multiple layers of fancy paint.

Anything against paint jobs?? These are increasable cars. I had a 72 280SE and doing a swap is no biggy but making it look good shows commitment. This whole rusty resto rod fad is just a way to say, I didn’t want to put a lot of effort into this but hey isn’t this cool?? It’s not a sleeper with those tires and wheels…

The decision to go with an LS came down, in large part, to electronics. The CANBUS systems on Mercedes engines are not super easy to get working to the degree that Icon requires. Even outfits like Mechatronik have to cobble together their systems and use all kinds of workarounds.
