For this price you can get a Cadillac CTS-V wagon in the same condition that is at least 4 years newer, has 50 more HP, and you can keep running indefinitely for a small fraction of the price of the Benz. Maybe not quite as rare, but CTS-V wagons are still not something you see every day.

Just a few weeks ago a 2007 example was bid up to only $34k on BaT. A similar price seems to get you a 2014 or 2015 model on the site. This is grossly overpriced for probably the worst looking MB hot wagon. 

This is beyond BaT pricing. They must be trying to rip off some idiot that thinks this is the right price for a fast wagon. 

It also has a clear title and, per an edict from a Mercedes-Benz shop following a recent service, it “needs literally nothing mechanically.”

Even with the low miles, this is grossly overpriced. That money could get you something much newer (if you can find one).

Based on the few people I’ve met that bought (leased?) an Escalade new, I’d bet they’ll be some of the loudest complainers about the cost of gas prices. My confidence in that grows if they are anything like the other luxury truck/SUV suburbanites I’ve known over the years.

It’s war profiteering (officially defined as “overcharging in order to defraud or profit excessively from war, military action, or reconstruction efforts”). It’s illegal. And it doesn’t matter, because none of these companies will be held accountable for it.

I’m not so sure about that. I have been reliably informed by many gas pumps in my area that Biden, specifically, “did that”. And well I’ve never been one to argue too hard with a sticker, so....

The fact that diesel is much cheaper to produce than gasoline, yet much more expensive at the pump is maddening. I get refining capacity has shifted to prioritize gas over diesel, but still....this sucks.
